The two things we do

What we actually cater

We are a home kitchen, not a banquet hall — which means the food is cooked the way it would be for a family, in the quantities your event actually needs. Two things make up most of what we do.

Sweets trays and mishti for the table

Rasgulla, chomchom, sandesh, kalojam and jalebi, in the counts you need rather than in fixed boxes. Mishti doi by the tub for larger tables. For weddings and engagements this is usually the mishti mukh — the sweetening of the mouth — and for Eid and Puja it is the tray that sits out all day.

If you would rather see prices by the piece first, they are all on the menu page: rasgulla at $1.25, chomchom and sandesh at $1.50, kalojam at $1.80, and jalebi at $8 per pound.

Full Bengali meals

Rice, daal, bhaji, egg, fish and chicken or beef — the dinner a Bengali household actually eats, scaled up for a room. Our weekly meal boxes give you an idea of the cooking; for an event we build the menu around your headcount and what you want on the table.

Occasions we cook for

  • Weddings, mehndi and gaye holud — sweets for the ceremony and meals for the gathering around it.
  • Akika and naming ceremonies — sweets to hand out, and food for the family.
  • Eid and Puja — our busiest weeks of the year, so book these early.
  • Birthdays and anniversaries — mixed sweet trays and meal platters.
  • Corporate and community events — Bengali food for offices and community centres across the GTA.

How a catering order works

Message us on Messenger, or call or text 437-676-6264, with three things: the date, roughly how many people, and what you want on the table. We come back with a quote.

Event catering is priced per event rather than from a fixed list, because it depends on the menu and the headcount. Our everyday orders need two days' notice; weddings and larger gatherings should be booked further out, especially around Eid, Puja and the winter wedding season.

Delivery is free within Scarborough. We serve Toronto and the wider GTA — tell us the venue when you ask and we'll confirm it in the quote.
